Horweenシェルコードバンで作った
システム手帳(ポケットサイズ 、ミニ6穴/ 13mm)です。
システム手帳と聞くと、カチッとしたビジネス用の印象があります。そのため、コードバンで作ったシステム手帳はなおさらに、しっかりと芯地の入った外装やカード入れなどのついた機能的な手帳が多いかと思います。
でも、今回本当に作りたかったのは、くったりと味が出てきて形が変化していく、そんなコードバンを楽しむための手帳です。
仕事用はもちろんですが、自分の好きなことを書き留めたり、好きなものを保管したり、そんな自分だけの手帳に仕上げていくことが楽しくなるような手帳にしました。もちろん革の変化は存分に楽しめます。
目指したのは、本当の意味での趣味の手帳です。
外装を、一枚のコードバンだけで仕上げました。
一枚のコードバンで、中身を包み込むようにシンプルに作りました。
そのため使っていくうちに、内側のリフィルやペンのアタリが出てきます。このアタリや変化の仕方は、使用するコードバンの厚みによっても異なりますが、コードバン特有の経年変化です。
コードバンは本来、革の厚みが均一ではありません。厚さが1ミリほどの部分から、2ミリ以上もあるような厚手の部分まで、それらが一枚のコードバンの中にグラデーションのように広がっています。
その中のちょうど良い厚みの部分を選んで製作していきますが、革の厚みの不均一さは必ず出てきます。でもこの違いが、きっと思いがけないコードバンの変化につながるはずです。

コンパクトで持ち歩きに最適な、小さめサイズの手帳です。
この手帳に使用できるリフィルのサイズは、ポケットサイズ(ミニ6穴 / 128 x 80 mm) です。
コンパクトで、ちょっとしたメモを取る際などにもちょうど良い大きさです。
なお、この手帳にはリフィルやペンホルダーなどの付属品はお付けしていません。お送りするのは手帳本体のみとなりますが、お好みのカレンダーやメモ帳、ペンホルダーなどを追加してお使いいただけます。
バインダー金具は、KRAUSE社(ドイツ)の金具を使用しています。
リング径13mmの、普段使いにちょうど良いリフィルの枚数が持ち運べる、そんなリングサイズを選びました。

When you hear the leather organizer, there is an impression that it is for business use.
For that reason, I think that there are many functional organizers ornotebooks made with cordovan, with an exterior that has a solid interlining and some card slots functions.
But what I really wanted to make was anorganizer to enjoy the patina of shell cordovan.
Of course, it's for business use, but I made
anorganizer that makes it fun to write down what you like and keep it, so that you can enjoy its shell patina.
What I aimed for was
anorganizer for hobbyists in the truest sense of the word.
The exterior was finished with only one piece of Shell Cordovan.
I made it simple to wrap the contents with a piece of shell cordovan.
Therefore, as you use it, the shape of inner refills and pens will come out. The patina and how it changes depends on the thickness of the cordovan used, but it is a change peculiar to cordovan.
Cordovan leather is not inherently uniform in thickness. From the 1mm thick part to over the 2mm thick part, it spreads like a gradation in a single piece of cordovan.
I will select the part with the right thickness and make it, but there will always be unevenness in the thickness of the shell.
This difference will surely lead to unexpected changes and patina of cordovan.

This Pocket size is just the right size when you bring around in your hand.
The refills that can be used for this organizer are Pocket size (6 holes / 121 mm x 80 mm / 4.72 in x 3.18 in).
It's a size that feels nice weight when you hold it in your hand, and it's just the right size to be easy to hold with one hand when you open it.
Please note that this organizer does not come with accessories such as refills or pen holders. Only the main body of the organizer will be sent, but you can add your favorite calendar, notepad, pen holder, etc.
The binder metal fittings are made by KRAUSE (Germany).
Ichose 13mm, which is just the right number of refills for everyday use.
